Most agents pass along a name from their referral network and leave it there. We look outside ours. We research the agents actually working that market, call and interview them ourselves, and hand over a short written list with what we learned about each one. The goal is the best agent for the job, not the one who happens to be in our network.
What it saves you
Nobody has to interview agents. And nobody gets handed the agent who simply paid to be there. On Zillow and Realtor.com, agents buy leads in the ZIP codes they pick, so the agent who calls back is often whoever bought that ZIP code. That is not the same as the agent who knows the market. We do the research and make the calls first, then put the reasons in writing.

Common questions
How do I find a good real estate agent in another state?
Have someone do the research and put it in writing. We look at who is actually working that market, call and interview the ones worth considering, and send a short written list with what we learned about each one. You choose from the list.
What does this cost me?
Nothing. You pay us nothing for the research, the interviews, the written list, or the introduction.
Can Adam help me buy or sell in a state where he is not licensed?
Yes, as the person who finds and vets the agent. Adam is licensed in California, so he cannot show you homes or write your contract in another state. A licensed local agent does that part. Adam’s job is finding the right one and staying with it after the introduction.
What do you ask the agents when you interview them?
The same questions every time, so the answers can be compared. The one that matters most is who will actually work with you day to day, the agent personally or someone else on their team. We also ask how many out-of-state buyers they handled in the last year and how they run showings for someone who cannot fly in for every home, how they keep buyers updated and how quickly they respond, whether they have time off coming up and who covers for them, and whether they can give us two recent clients we can call.
What happens after the introduction?
Adam follows up with you and with the agent to see where things stand and whether you have questions. He stays reachable while it is in progress. After you close, you hear from him again.
Why not just use Zillow or Realtor.com?
Because on those sites agents pay for buyer leads and can target the ZIP codes they want, so the agent who calls you back is often the one who paid for that ZIP code. Zillow’s own Preferred FAQ describes routing built on ZIP code preferences, and says ZIP targeting is available to agents who buy Premier Agent leads upfront. Paying for a ZIP code is not the same as knowing the market.
Do agents pay to be on your list?
No. Nobody buys a place on it. Being inside our own referral network does not put an agent on it either. We look outside our network on purpose.
Does this work if they are staying in their own town?
Yes. Most people assume this is only for a move out of state. It works the same way for someone buying or selling in the town they already live in.
